Improving Lives One Dirty Sock at a Time

organizing 2I am sitting here with a woman who works for a cleaning service Vancouver and I will start by asking her why do we even need to clean our homes?

CL : There are health reasons I suppose. If you are constantly breathing in dust and other air born pathogens your breathing and over all health will be negatively affected.

You sound like you don’t believe that is the most important reason for someone to have their house cleaned.

CL : That is highly perceptive of you. Yes, I believe the most important reason for a person to have their house cleaned is the psychological benefit.

Psychological benefit?

CL : Yes. When a person has their home cleaned especially by a maid service Vancouver he or she begins to achieve a certain peace of mind. I very much believe this.

How did you come to this belief? Was there a specific situation you experienced that revealed this to you?

CL : There was no one specific incident per se. I would just say that after many years of cleaning other people’s homes I have come to observe the effect it has on them. I sense more than anything that an aura of peace descend upon the person and their entire demeanor changes.

Why do you think this is?

CL : I think it has to do with the cleanliness but also with the fact that everything in their world has been put in its proper place. They know where to find things. They know that the burden of cleaning their world has been lifted from their shoulders.

That is pretty profound.

CL : It is profound and that is why I feel no shame in the work that I do. I know many people look down on house cleaning as menial labor. But I see it as a personal calling. I am improving the lives of people one discarded dirty sock and dust bunny at a time.
